The General Medical Council’s (GMC) Strategy and Policy directorate is seeking a Data & Insight Manager (Education) to support our regulation of medical education.

The GMC helps to protect patients and improve medical education and practice in the UK by setting standards for students and doctors. We support them in achieving (and exceeding) those standards and taking action when they are not met.

As the Data and Insight Manager you will have the specialist experience needed to guide and lead analytical projects examining our data, evidence and research on key areas of risk. You will work closely with our experienced team of analysts, statisticians, and policy experts to contribute timely insight and data to inform debate and decision making.

The work you produce will make a direct impact on our understanding of risks and opportunities that doctors face, and contribute to UK workforce plans, the quality of medical education in the UK, the safe and correct registration of doctors, and the quality of our handling of complaints about doctors.

You will be managing a busy team of analysts, with a mixture of planned and unplanned projects, often with competing priorities and complex findings linked to multiple stakeholders. You will need the intellectual capacity to understand the real needs and benefits of different work streams.

In return, you’ll benefit from being part of an organisation that is genuinely committed to its people. Within our friendly environment, you will have access to a range of learning and development opportunities designed to support your ongoing progression. You’ll benefit from being part of an organisation that is genuinely committed to its people. We offer an attractive salary and benefits package, to find out more please click the 'Apply' button.

Diversity of background and experience contributes to a broader collective perspective. It is only through building an inclusive and diverse workforce that we can continue to excel as an effective and relevant regulator; constantly improving in our mission to protect patients and support doctors. We are focused on developing a diverse and inclusive organisation; one that reflects the doctors that it works with and the public that it represents.

Due to Covid 19, the successful applicant will commence working from home with a supportive induction package, with a plan to return to an office based role at a later date. As with our usual arrangements we will be able to offer working from home days once we have returned to the office.

We recognise the value that lived experience brings, alongside skills and knowledge, and actively encourage those with diverse backgrounds and experiences to apply to work with us. You can read more about our approach to this via the 'Apply' button.

The GMC is happy to support a range of flexible working options. Flexible working requests will be considered in line with the policy.

Closing Date: Midnight on Wednesday 30th June 2021. Late applications won't be accepted.
