The Government Internal Audit Agency (GIAA) are an Executive Agency of HM Treasury and a specialist provider of internal audit and counter fraud and investigation services to central government.  

European Auditor Managers are responsible for overseeing the delivery of a highly technical audit and assurance framework, across a varied range of funds, customers and stakeholders.

The role involves significant Commission and stakeholder liaison, and support to a Senior Audit Manager and the Group Chief Internal Auditor.

You will manage an audit team which may vary in size depending in portfolio, with responsibility for coordinating resource over a range of audits and assignments.

Audit Managers are the key day to day contact for our clients and their ability to build good relationships with a variety of stakeholders whilst delivering robust audit work is critical. You will work with a diverse range of beneficiaries and stakeholders – government departments, agencies, higher/further education, local authorities, charities, private sector.

The European team is based in several locations across England. An element of travel will be required subject to Covid-19 restrictions.

You must hold full current membership of the Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors UK & Ireland or other Institutes of Internal Auditors that are part of IIA Global, OR be a current member of one of the five CCAB bodies (ICAEW, ACCA, CIPFA, ICAS and Chartered Accountants Ireland) or CIMA.  

This post can be based in London, Manchester, Leeds, Bristol, Plymouth, Liverpool, Cambridge, Nottingham, Birmingham, Newcastle or Sheffield. Full-time, part-time or flexible working arrangements can be accommodated.
