My client is actively looking to recruit to the team a dynamic and enthusiastic Risk/MI Data Engineer who has a passion for data as well as being a strong communicator. Solid experience as a SQL-focused analyst/developer is important, but this is secondary to demonstrating a belief that delivery of a sound data platform is key to meeting business demands.
A knowledge of Risk Analytics, ideally gained in the commodity or financial trading sectors would again be beneficial, but this too is secondary to the candidate's willingness to interact closely with business users, demonstrating an ability to understand their daily processes and information needs and how those needs will be met by their application data.
Finally, a solid understanding of agile methodologies including story definition, sprint planning, continuous integration and automated testing would be useful. The candidate should be delivery focused but also be able to mento colleagues in all areas to the development lifecycle in order to improve the IT department's overall capabilities.
Key Skills
- Strong interest in Data & Science generally
- Excellent SQL knowledge with understanding of both the relational and dimensional models
- Good knowledge of Business Intelligence tools, especially SAP Business Objects and MS Power BI
- Track record of data analysis, design and delivery, preferably in a phyusical commodity trading environment
