About the Company

Our client is a leading UK-focussed downstream energy company whose main asset is their Manufacturing Complex, one of the most advanced refineries in Europe and situated close to the major cities of Liverpool and Manchester. The Manufacturing Complex is a key strategic national asset, annually producing over 16% of the UK's road transport fuels, while playing an important part in Britain's petrochemical industry by providing key feedstocks.

The business is a major supplier in the North West and beyond with customers including most of the major retail brands operated by international oil companies and supermarkets, Manchester Airport, leading commercial airlines and the region's trains and buses.

The business covers crude and product trading, refinery operations, HSE implementation, maintenance support and technological services, together with marketing and retail activities. Our client's commitment to maintaining safe and healthy working conditions and following the best operating practices to protect the environment underpins everything they do.

They employ over 800 highly trained and loyal staff, who are at the heart of everything they do. The company has an embedded safety culture, technically challenging work across the different parts of the business and some of the best training available in the energy industry.

The Role

A significant transformation of our client's IT and Cybersecurity function is underway. As a result, they now have an exciting opportunity for two Cyber Security Analysts to join their Cyber Security Team.

Reporting to the Cyber Security Team lead, the analysts will be responsible for the coordination and support of all day to day activities to ensure overall information and data security monitoring and compliances are maintained and continuously enhanced, as per the rapidly evolving cyber threats in the industry.

The role requires planning, implementation, management, monitoring and responding to cybersecurity threats and upgrade security measures. The successful candidates will troubleshoot security and network issues, work with internal and external security providers and respond to system and network breaches.

They will be required to monitor and analyse the organisation's systems to identify and propose new security measures and improvements. In addition, they will work in partnership with the IT Operations and Projects teams to ensure that security is adequately addressed and embedded in all company projects and activities.

With the specific aim of increasing awareness and understanding of cyber security within our client's workforce, the analysts will manage all aspects of working with SOC, cyber security campaigns, policy creation, document management and compliance.

The role holders will also support regulatory and compliance frameworks such as GDPR, ISO27001 and NIS.

About You

Successful candidates will have a keen interest in IT, with a Degree or appropriate other related qualifications within the IT sector, ideally having knowledge in Cyber Security. They will have excellent IT skills and knowledge of IT systems and should have at least some experience with firewalls, routers, intrusion detection systems and intrusion prevention systems. You will also need the ability to undertake technical investigations, configuration of IT Security hardware and software, impact analysis and root cause analysis independently.

You should be comfortable working with a variety of stakeholders across the business and have the ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner across a variety of outputs. A clear eye for detail and ability to handle, process and understand large amounts of data quickly will be required. The individuals will be expected to work on multiple projects at once, so being organised and flexible in the approach to work would be beneficial.

This role will be considered as a reasonable development opportunity.

Please note, our client works with a carefully selected PSL and will not accept speculative CV's from other Agencies.
