Internal Audit Consultant

Position: Internal Auditor, London

(Full time with potential for part time)

The Audit and Risk Recruitment Company (ARRC)* has been mandated by our client, a European Bank, in their search for an internal auditor for their London offices.

This is a stand-alone role that will suit an experienced audit professional towards the end of their career or someone looking for a degree of working flexibility. Significant internal audit experience within a financial services environment (ideally banking) is mandatory for this position. 

Audits will cover several different areas including export finance, project finance and more general financial and operational audits. 

Reporting into the European Head of Audit You will be expected to drive and deliver your own audit plan, also working with the wider international audit team. 

Responsibilities: 

• To perform regular audits, ex-ante-audits as well as special audits, taking into account the risk and also the efficiency of workflow/performance
  • preparation of audit reports in an accurate, objective, clear, concise, constructive and timely manner,
  • conducting final discussions with management to achieve agreement with results and action to be taken,
  • evaluation of corrective measures proposed,
  • monitoring and/or follow up of all audit findings relating to London Branch.

• To participate in the risk assessment and audit planning process.
• To develop and maintain audit programs                       

Required / Beneficial Skills

• Significant (10 yrs +) internal audit experience within a financial services environment
• Exposure to working with European Banks / Finance businesses is an advantage 
• Some knowledge of the German MaRisk regulation would be beneficial 
• German language skills beneficial but not mandatory
