The Transformation Directorate was created at the start of 2020 to lead portfolio management and change delivery capability for CCG.

The Directorate's purpose is to drive benefits-focused, transformational change delivering CCG and HMRC strategic objectives (within CCG). Its vision is to be recognised as leading and delivering best practice change and transformation.

In the last year, the Directorate has been designed to include key functions in Programme and Project Management, Change Management, Business Partnering, the Enterprise Portfolio Office as well as the Director's Private Office.

Following a period of growth and intense recruitment, the Directorate will soon comprise 95 people. Together the team have made great strides to reprioritise and refine the Transformation Portfolio and progress both HMRC- and CCG-led initiatives as well as developing the necessary processes, governance, standards and capability whilst aligning closely with HMRC's Transformation Group. It is a really exciting time to join the Directorate as it continues to grow and evolve to define and deliver the ambitions of the CCG Transformation Roadmap.

Job description

To support the delivery of business change, the role holder will work with the TD Business Change Manager/s and agreed project resources to:

  • Support the delivery of change activities within defined projects/programmes e.g. complete agreed change tools in draft, making updates from key stakeholder inputs and producing final versions for approval.
  • Translate and tailor a project's change management strategy into executable change plans e.g. engagement, communications and training as defined by the BCM
  • Set up and manage change networks and governance groups (including CCG Business Readiness Implementation Groups - BRIGs).
  • Support stakeholder management coordination activities by:
    • managing professional relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, and supporting BCM as a lead point of contact in relation CCG business change.
    • ensuring transfer of information and understanding between programme/project, acting as a conduit between key stakeholders.
    • working collaboratively to ensure strategic planning and readiness for CCG business change
  • Support the set up and ongoing management of CCG Business Readiness Implementation Groups (BRIGs), to assure with the Chair:
    • effective running and impartiality,
    • ensuring preparation for, facilitation of the Checklist during and administering all post meeting minutes and actions for each meeting
  • Support change and Business Readiness reporting and status updates
  • Support the design, development and delivery of knowledge transfer / up-skill briefing session

To assure the quality of change management outputs, the role holder will:

  • Create and manage a repository of all completed documents for the assigned project/s
  • Test effectiveness of change tools to ensure adequacy and suitability to deliver outcomes and establish 'checkpoints' with impacted communities to evaluate how the change is 'landing'.
  • Role model great change management behaviours as an active member of the Change Network


Responsibilities

Essential Criteria:

  • Knowledge of business change management methodologies (ideally Prosci).
  • Experience of project /change management delivery and familiarity with a variety of change management tools.
  • Credible within the business units to co-ordinate groups of stakeholders.
  • Highly organised, with strong influencing skills, for gaining commitment from others to an approach or driving progress of actions to completion.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to design presentations and draft compelling communications to explain what the change means for people.
  • High standard of attention to detail, to ensure accuracy of all written documents and records of meetings, follow up on actions and resolution of issues raised across business forums.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Confident facilitator and ability to support Chair to drive senior meetings.
  • A background in corporate communications or experience of multiple communications channels with designing & creating communication material.

Team members that are moving offices as a result of the Locations Programme will be entitled to a Moves Adjustment Payment for three years where they incur additional costs. This is calculated based on the difference between the costs of travelling to and from the new and old office, over a weekly period. You will get more detail on this as part of targeted locations move communications.
