The ICO’s headquarters are based in Wilmslow, Cheshire however there may be scope to offer some flexibility of location including a level of remote working from home.

Salary: £37,964 - £43,001 per annum plus pension and excellent benefits

Starting salary: Expected starting salary is £37,964. A salary up to £43,001 may be available for an exceptional candidate, plus pension and excellent benefits

About the role 

Our Planning, Risk and Governance directorate is responsible for making sure the ICO has the right governance, planning, risk management and compliance approaches in place. We support the ICO, and in particular senior colleagues across the organisation, to make well informed, transparent and compliant decisions, prioritising effectively. We provide oversight and assurance and make sure we support the ICO’s role as a regulator, public body and employer. We are expanding our team, and a vacancy has arisen in our Corporate Governance team for a Risk and Business Continuity Manager.

About you 

You will need to be an experienced risk and business continuity professional with a proven track record in delivering improvements in business continuity and risk frameworks across complex organisations. You will have experience in developing risk and business continuity policies and processes, making sure approaches are benchmarked to best practice. You will be able to develop proportionate plans and responses to business continuity events, and also ensure the ICO’s decision making is informed by risk and opportunity management.

You will be a team player, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and key stakeholders, and have the ambition to drive forward a programme of work. You will need to be able to influence and develop proportionate and effective solutions and ensure the ICO is well prepared and well informed by its risk and business continuity approaches.

If you are appointed to work with the ICO you will be required to complete security clearance processes. These include identity and qualification checks and a Basic Disclosure level check of unspent criminal convictions.
