With one of the largest organisational change portfolios, this is an exciting time to join a new Transformation Directorate within the Customer Compliance Group (CCG).

A significant part of this role is to support 'Business Readiness' for change across a portfolio of initiatives encompassing both HMRC-led and CCG-led programmes. Changes Programmes include those driven by IT, Policy & Process changes.

Job description

As a Senior Business Change Manager you will demonstrate and role model Change Management behaviours as well as showing leadership and expertise in Change Management methodologies within assigned projects and through active coaching/ training of others in the profession.

To assure change lands well with the business, the Senior BCM will:

  • Take the Change lead role for assigned projects, to identify the size/scope of the change and define the change management approach to deliver the expected benefits.
  • Recommend the appropriate change team structure and interventions to deliver the expected benefits of the change.
  • Apply a structured methodology and lead change management activities within those designated projects to positively affect the speed and extent of adoption, partnering the Project Management resources.
  • Identify, assess and engage with stakeholders and support & coach them to optimise the impact they can have on project outcomes.
  • Conduct business impact analysis and design proportionate change interventions.
  • Work with impacted groups to assess change readiness.
  • Create and actively participate in the delivery of the Change Management plans - Sponsors roadmap, Stakeholder engagement plan, Communications and Engagement plan, Training plan, Resistance Management plan and Reinforcement plan.
  • Lead the change management elements of the business case and work with the Benefits Manager to realise those benefits.
  • Engage and support senior leaders, coach managers and supervisors to drive enterprise wide methodology and understanding of what constitutes as great change management.
  • Be an active member of the HMRCs Change Network and fully contribute to the continuous development of the change capabilities across the organisation.

Responsibilities

Essential Criteria:

  • A relevant professional qualification such as Prosci Practitioner or APMG Change Practitioner.
  • Experience using Change Management methodologies within large scale organisation change efforts.
  • Heightened Interpersonal skills (empathy, active listening & conflict management).
  • Excellent relationship building & collaboration with and through others cross-functionally.
  • Influential at all levels of seniority within the business.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Business Acumen - deemed as highly credible within the organization for broad operational understanding.
  • Coaching and influencing.

Team members that are moving offices as a result of the Locations Programme will be entitled to a Moves Adjustment Payment for three years where they incur additional costs. This is calculated based on the difference between the costs of travelling to and from the new and old office, over a weekly period. You will get more detail on this as part of targeted locations move communications.
