Location: We are moving to hybrid office/home working and will consider applications from people able to access any of the following offices: Birmingham, Bootle, Bristol, Cardiff, Leeds, London, Norwich, Newcastle, Reading and Sheffield

Salary: London: £43,160 - £53,324 / National: £39,195 - £45,386. Although new entrants to the civil service are expected to join at the minimum of the salary range, we have limited discretion to agree a higher starting point dependent on current salary, skills and experience.

The Government Internal Audit Agency are an Executive Agency of HM Treasury and a specialist provider of internal audit and counter fraud and investigation services to the majority of government departments.

Working in GIAA will enhance your CV as you’ll be working with high profile government departments such as DWP, Ministry of Justice, Home Office, MHCLG or DHSC through the newly formed GIAA Central Insights team. You will play an integral role in the delivery of Cross Government reviews in this team which will provide ‘better insights for better outcomes’.

As a Senior Auditor in the Central Insights team, you are the heart of GIAA with a varied and interesting range of impactful work. You will have responsibility for a portfolio of work across a range of government departments, allowing you the opportunity to grow your experience by working on new topics or with new customers, and gain a truly cross government understanding of how departments operate to deliver services for the public.

So, what are we looking for? As an experienced auditor, you will be able to demonstrate strong understanding of governance, risk management, control and assurance issues. You will hold current membership of the Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors UK & Ireland or other Institutes of Internal Auditors that are part of IIA Global, OR be a current member of one of the five CCAB bodies (ICAEW, ACCA, CIPFA, ICAS and Chartered Accountants Ireland) or CIMA. 

This role is being offered on a permanent basis however temporary fixed term contracts are also available.
