ESG AT CAPITAL GROUP

Investors around the world are increasingly focused on ESG as part of their investment philosophy, and Capital Group recognizes a unique opportunity to deepen the integration of ESG perspectives into our fundamental research. Our strategy is to systematically incorporate ESG information and research tools into the investment process, consistently communicate to clients our ESG perspectives, and to enable delivery of ESG as a product. Over time, we will increase our voice in the industry with thought leadership on ESG processes, investment approaches and methods for investing sustainably.

ESG Impact Measurement and Management has an important role within Capital Group's ESG team, itself an area of strategic focus for the firm. The goal is to develop fund-level impact measurement, clearly showing the outcomes that the companies we invest in are having on key stakeholders.

We are looking for individuals with the capability to develop market leading and multi-dimensional fund reporting, showing thematic alignment, case studies, and incorporating clear KPIs that can be monitored over time. Working with stakeholders across the business will be a key aspect, from investment teams to distribution, developing and delivering compelling impact measurement that meets internal, client and regulatory needs. It is expected that you will also be committed to the impact measurement and reporting's ongoing evolution as a nascent but strategically important area for the industry.

"I CAN SUCCEED AS AN ESG SPECIALIST AT CAPITAL GROUP"

- You will take a lead role in developing and delivering fund impact measurement and reporting with a strong narrative around impact and thematic alignment. You will engage with our investment teams as they articulate theses for stock holdings, sourcing and establishing relevant and measurable impact KPIs that can be tracked over time
- You'll develop narratives that demonstrate thematic and SDG alignment in a fund process
- Taking a lead role developing and executing ESG impact reporting, you'll work with senior members of our investment teams on assessing and monitoring impact across portfolios. You'll partner with investment operations and technology teams and other internal stakeholders to ensure reports are as scalable as possible, and meet regulatory and compliance needs
- You'll build internal fluency on our ESG impact measurement and monitoring, collaborating with distribution leadership and investment directors to ensure that client needs are being met
- Becoming a key internal expert on impact measurement and reporting, you'll drive ongoing improvement in these areas. You'll work with external groups to ensure our work on impact and fund level ESG reporting continues to evolve in line with best practice.

"I AM THE PERSON CAPITAL GROUP IS LOOKING FOR."

- You are familiar with ESG reporting standards and impact management frameworks, and knowledgeable of developments in ESG regulations
- Your interest in and understanding of sustainable and impact investing, and the competitor landscape, have developed an awareness of the needs and expectations of internal and external clients in these areas
- You work confidently with quantitative ESG data and corporate disclosure information, leveraging your skills creatively to find and establish narratives
- You have a well-developed ability to deliver projects to time and in collaboration with multiple stakeholders. You are action oriented, showing initiative to explore and recommend pragmatic solutions to issues you identify, embracing accountability and driving for results
- You have an intellectual curiosity, self-awareness and a nimble approach to learning, with a track record of applying your analytical skills in areas of high complexity. You can demonstrate an ability to gain business insight and develop strategy while maintaining a customer focus
- You enjoy building internal networks and collaborate effectively, utilizing your strong and influential written and oral communication skills when interacting with a diverse group of associates, senior business leaders and the Investment Group.
