A role you will love

The Quality Assurance Manager is a member of our Application Development leadership team. In this role, you will be responsible for helping to establish the vision and direction for Quality Assurance across the entire Software Development Life Cycle, as well as directing the day-to-day operations of both Quality Assurance and Quality Automation Assurance resources. This opportunity will also include partnering with the Global Development team to assist in defining requirements and standards for the supporting automation platforms and frameworks.

You will also be responsible for establishing industry standard quality processes and direction for integration, functional, regression, end-to-end, ETL, and performance testing along with the quality automation that supports these testing types, to provide quality support for both internally developed applications as well as 3rd party integrations. You will manage team efforts to ensure technically modern quality assurance practices are applied as we mature our quality capabilities and continue the path to implement quality automation technologies and processes to deliver reliable and intuitive client facing applications. You will collaborate closely with Application Development, Data Development and DevOps teams to assess application needs, support prioritization efforts, define resource allocation and plan quality assurance timelines.

Other key responsibilities include:
  • Establishing a software quality assurance system and team that promotes quality delivery and management of applications, data and related frameworks
  • Maturing the overall strategy and processes for the software quality assurance team
  • Managing QA resources in an Agile environment, ensuring Scrum teams have appropriate functional, end-to-end and integration QA coverage in support of the development efforts
  • Creating, measuring, and reporting on key metrics for the performance of the SQA team, as well as the quality health of the various product lines
  • Goal setting, regular feedback, coaching, reward, and recognition and following the appraisal process
  • Managing talent by identifying and nurturing potential, providing opportunities for staff to develop, assisting individuals in career and professional development planning, and providing a supportive environment for staff to continually learn and develop.
  • Strategically managing the flow of talent through the team by creating and maintaining a talent pipeline
  • Promoting knowledge sharing and transfer to broaden the skills and knowledge base both within the team and the wider organisation
  • Managing the quality related strategic interactions between the Product/Business and IT to deliver high quality effective and efficient IT service and solutions
  • Being a key contact point for strategic technical, environment and business objectives to facilitate and status comprehensive quality plans

What will you bring to the role?

You are someone who prides themselves on their expert knowledge of common, industry leading testing technologies and ensure you are knowledgeable of cutting-edge testing techniques and trends while implementing the technologies and ensuring high quality products on projects. Your attention to detail and problem-solving skills are second-to-none and you can manage multiple projects with conflicting priorities while delivering on critical deadlines. You will also bring:
  • 3+ years of QA Engineering management experience including experience of developing test automation scripts and working knowledge of automation frameworks along with best practices
  • 3+ years of experience working and influencing in a cross functional agile team
  • 3+ years of experience transforming manual test team members to highly effective, automation centric team members
  • Working knowledge of performance testing, benchmarking, DevOps, and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery
  • Experience with Web based technologies (client and server side) that include .NET, JavaScript
  • Demonstrated experience with all aspects of unit, functional, integration, regression and user acceptance testing
  • Able to work at many levels, including serving as a QA leader and working with the leads of other disciplines to improve delivery
  • Experience overseeing and directing the development of new test frameworks and applications to ensure the implementation of end-to-end test solutions
  • Experience managing a critical test organization including, defining, training, enforcing and executing standards and compliance, results-based delivery, root cause analysis and defect prevention techniques, testing tool standards and reports, and SQA knowledge management and training
  • Knowledge of full-stack development technologies, including Web based, BPM, No-code, and Services, that include .NET, JavaScript, Pega, etc.
  • Experience with Agile and Scaled Agile methodologies - Agile or SAFe Certification a plus

Bonus points if you have:
  • Working knowledge and experience developing or leading development efforts on the test automation frameworks which for both User Interface and Web Service testing needs
  • Experience with ADO or other ALM solutions
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, or equivalent field

Compensation. Approximately $110,000 - $150,000 per year USD, depending on experience.
