Are you a Data-driven specialist looking to help a growing business through data?

We have a new permanent Data Analyst role working from our West London office 2-day-per-week basis in the Content Solutions department of BSI Knowledge Solutions.

We are looking for an individual who is passionate about unlocking value from data.

The Data Analyst will work in collaboration with internal stakeholders to provide data expertise and insight that builds an understanding of the data supporting BSI’s content, products, and services. The role will also work closely with operations teams to increase efficiency and identify automation opportunities.

As a Data Analyst, you will be supporting requests from internal and external partners that demand the delivery of new or enhanced data sets or the creation of reports. Also, as it is a highly collaborative and engaging role, you’ll be working closely with the operational, commercial, and technology teams to ensure the successful delivery of data to meet the requirements

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • Manage requests for new or enhanced data sets from the business and perform analysis to understand impacts on people, processes, and systems to support delivery
  • Whenever possible, provide clear graphical data representations and visualisations to help non-technical stakeholders understand BSI’s data assets, and support business decision making
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders across the division to build an understanding of our data, to identify and expose commercially valuable data to customers
  • Provide insight and expertise in data modelling and SME support to the data cleansing and data enrichment teams to robustly deliver requirements
  • Develop and document processes and procedures for teams that have touchpoints with our data
  • Gather requirements and provide recommendations for digital toolsets that support the continuous improvement and automation of data analysis and operational task

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Degree level or equivalent body of publishing experience working with content systems and structured content
  • Analysis of source data in multiple formats using appropriate techniques
  • Presentation of analysis using appropriate techniques (e.g. data visualisation)
  • Working with structured XML data, data feeds, and delivery methods
  • Writing SQL queries, Crystal Reports
  • Defining and maintaining documentation for business processes
  • Designing and building reports from data sourced from databases
  • Analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to translate technical information to non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience in engaging and positively influencing cross-functional teams
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • The ability to plan own work within a framework of guidelines and without supervision
  • The ability to cope under pressure when working to a tight deadline
  • Highly organised with the ability to juggle a wide range of tasks, deadlines, and priorities, stemming from projects at various stages of development
  • Resourceful and solution-seeking
  • Proactive and flexible approach to assimilating and addressing business needs
