We are working with a progressive mid-tier firm that are on a growth phase and are as such looking for part-qualified semi-seniors and seniors to join the business and experience all sectors they work in - from corporate to not for profit to financial services.

By exposing yourself to all aspects of the business, you will be able to understand what you do and don't like, allowing you to make an informed decision on which sectors to specialise within when you progress to the audit supervisor level.

The Role:

• Responsibilities will involve working on a range of clients across a variety of sectors corporate, not for profit and pension schemes.
• Act as the lead on audits reporting directly to manager. The individual will be responsible for the planning of the audit file right through to the completion sections including drafting the financial statements, the management letter and the letter of representation
• Supervise and effectively delegate work to less experienced members of the audit team as agreed by the manager
• Communicate with the audit manager regularly on the audit and make recommendations to them on how clients can improve their accounting systems and controls
• Perform ‘accounts preparation’ jobs either from the client’s trial balance or from their original accounting records
• Appraise less experienced members of the audit team following completion of the jobs worked on with them

The Person

• You will have had experience of leading small audits from the planning stage right through to the completion stage including supervising junior members of staff within your audit team
• You will be in the process of studying for the professional stage of the ACA qualification or ACCA equivalent.
• Proactive self-starter and team player
• Dynamic and flexible attitude to work as you will be required to travel to clients’ premises and work around clients’ working hours as necessary
