C&S is unique in that it operates a virtual system in each of the three regions (APAC, EMESA and NAMR) with a distinct P&L and staff who are (co)hosted by the system but who are physically located in BCG offices around the world.

The C&S Practice's growth is accelerated by our Impact Investment Fund, committed by BCG to deliver impact on the world's greatest challenges (shared with the Social Impact PA).

The Finance & Investment Manager will focus primarily on three main areas:

Firstly the financial reporting/analysis for the C&S PA, working closely with the Regions and Finance to identify and track progress against C&S' KPIs and metrics as well as providing key data and analysis for leadership.

Secondly, owning the Impact Investment Fund management and innovation : managing investment decisions, reporting on performance and enabled growth, evolving processes to enhance transparency and effectiveness, and working to ensure return on investment and effectively measure impact delivered.

Finally, the individual will be expected to drive other strategic projects for the Leadership Team e.g supporting the identification and assessment of potential M&A targets.

The PA Investment Manager will act as a thought partner and primary execution counterpart to C&S PA leaders and MDPs and collaborates closely with the C&S PA management team, PA operations counterparts as well as relevant functions at BCG such as Finance, Client team, FPA and IPA teams.

The PA Investment Manager will report to the Global PA Senior Director and will have some dedicated Finance resources (e.g. from the Business Intelligence & Analytics team) to help on the reporting side.

YOU'RE GOOD AT

C&S PA growth strategy and business intelligence:
  • Together with PA Management, PAL and PA Leaders - developing strategic financial plan, setting desired outcomes, managing priorities and owning implementation/ tracking of progress
  • Forecasting revenue and business momentum based on investment data, YTD status and commercial pipeline in collaboration with topic managers and Finance departments
  • Analyzing composition of PA portfolio across various parameters (e.g., region, system, topic, business, IPA)
  • Working with the PA Management, defining and setting up the key KPIs to measure and track the success of virtual PA and helping produce updates on progress/key successes to the Management team, the wider C&S team and BCG.
  • Monitoring and developing (where appropriate) key performance indicators (e.g. NCC, price points, global and local investments, global pro bono partners budgets, win rates and commercial performance insights, competitors' monitoring, etc.); this requires working collaboratively with local, regional and global stakeholders addressing a broad set of internal and external metrics and bringing together different data sources and tools into aggregated views
  • Senior management reporting (including monthly and ad-hoc reporting of various KPIs, supporting the development of new reporting tools, as well as enhancing reporting content and processes)
Impact Investment Fund and ROI:
  • Overseeing with the Leadership team, M&A activities (i.e. helping identify and assess opportunities for inorganic growth, driving the process through to completion and assessing the return on investment)
  • Managing investment processes for Climate & Sustainability - this includes managing incoming requests, checking against key investment criteria, managing decision making process with PA leadership including relevant key stakeholders (PAL, PA Management, Client Team, etc.), working with finance teams to activate and track investments
  • Initiating the investment giveback process by involving key stakeholders from Marketing team, KT and Topic managers to curate knowledge and build our library of internal and external references and Impact Stories
  • Managing and continuously improving the Impact Measurement process - support PA leadership in developing a comprehensive framework and approach to measure our impact on the world; define and support impact measurement capabilities processes and capabilities to roll-out across BCG at scale
PA financials:
  • Planning (supporting the strategic and financial planning process in collaboration with practice area leadership, preparing and aggregating financial plans, using analytical tools to support financial modelling)
  • Monitoring and report PA budget allocation and usage (e.g., Tier 1, campaign, etc.)
  • Advising and providing financial and decision support to senior stakeholders
Driving other strategic projects for the LT as needed
  • Providing thought leadership on how to leverage analytical concepts and methodologies to achieve strategic goals
  • Carefully understanding business context and proposing practical solutions with clear value drivers, explaining the analysis/research in an easy-to-understand way
  • Able to manage multiple senior stakeholders, build consensus, persuade, influence and negotiate

YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)
  • Post-graduate degree, preferably in an investment, math, engineering or other analytical and/or technology-related fields, with high academic achievement required; advanced degree preferred
  • 7+ years of experience working in a fast-paced environment; consulting/ professional services experience a plus
  • Preferred: Has led an analytics function and delivery of analytics projects
  • Project management experience
  • Excellent English skills (written and spoken)
