Job description

In brief, we:

  • Capture all business requirements - these are all driven from the business. We need to ensure all requirements are in line with the legislation.
  • Own the Value Streams to create the end-to-end view.
  • Support the collation of techno-functional requirements to support the creation of the Solution Design Documents.
  • Refine acceptance criteria.
  • Support the business with process mapping, user journey mapping and system mapping.
  • Use maps to support the business through a gap analysis to ensure there are no missed requirements.
  • Support business with reviewing Functional Specifications, upskilling where required and ensure these align to requirements.
  • Support business with test script creation, ensuring there is an end-to-end flow from requirement to functional specification.
  • Support implementation to live.

The Ideal Candidate

As the ideal candidate, you will have:

  • Experience or a keen interest in business analysis and have a passion for developing knowledge and skills in this discipline.
  • Are you able to manage multiple tasks and confidently communicate with key partners?
  • Strong organisational skills and be able to manage multiple tasks in a high-pressured environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and be confident in dealing with stakeholders at different grades.

Responsibilities

  • Attending requirement workshops to support Business Analysts with various facilitation activities, such as note-taking, action recording and relevant post-workshops tasks that may include compiling outputs, creating process diagrams and/or reviewing user stories with the team.
  • Reviewing team documentation, templates and guidance to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  • Support more senior members of the team with their day to day work, upskilling yourself to become a Business Analyst.

Essential Criteria

  • Outstanding organisational skills with the ability to prioritise duties.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders at different grades and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience of supporting Business Analysts.
  • An understanding of the IT delivery project life cycle.
  • Familiar with 'Visio' (or similar process mapping products).
  • Experience of working with SAP products.

About the broader DDaT profession:

The DDaT Profession consists of people who work in a digital, data or technology specialist role. They design, build and run government digital services. They are responsible for the way we find, access and use data and for the technology infrastructure which support those services. There are currently about 17,000 people working in the Profession. The Profession consists of people working within specialist communities of practice.

Team members that are moving offices as a result of the Locations Programme will be entitled to a Moves Adjustment Payment for three years where they incur additional costs. This is calculated based on the difference between the costs of travelling to and from the new and old office, over a weekly period. You will get more detail on this as part of targeted locations move communications.
