Enterprise Integration Services (EIS) are at the heart of the HMRC Chief Digital Information Officer (CDIO) group. EIS handle HMRC's core integration/middleware services, taking care of over a billion transactions every year and connecting hundreds of HMRC services. 

We provide platforms for delivering Application Programming Interface (API) access to HMRC systems. We also provide artefacts and support for API consumers (software developers and other Government Departments) to build and manage authorised software that seamlessly integrates with HMRC digital services.  

We use modern open-source products and work in an Agile way to deliver flexible, effective integration solutions.

Performance analysts track measurable value to HMRC, our businesses and customers by working as part of the service team to pro-actively gather evidence and carry out analysis that shows whether our digital services are successful for users.

Job description

We're looking for people with strong analytical and interpersonal skills who enjoy working in a user focused, agile environment. The ideal candidate will care about technology and users and be passionate about product success.

You will work with the team to identify analytical requirements and relevant metrics, provide robust, quality assured, often complex analytics and interpret results to create compelling evidence-based and actionable data stories to share with stakeholders to drive decisions and inform the iterative design of the service.

You will be experienced in using Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager. Having a willingness to undertake further training in Splunk coding skills.

You'll be confident using Excel and Google Sheets to manipulate the data, and Data Studio and Power BI to visualize and share outputs that inform iterations to improve the user journey.

A Senior Performance Analyst actively contributes to communities within HMRC and across government, including the HMRC performance analyst community, Digital Delivery Centres and Cross Governmental Performance Analyst Community.

They lead collaboratively within their community and across HMRC as a whole, communicating direction and supporting staff, including Data Analyst Apprentices, to engage with HMRC priorities.

Essential Criteria

You will meet the standards set out in the DDat Performance Analyst Career Framework , in particular:

  • Undertaking analysis and providing insight [lead skill].
  • Performance measurement.
  • Communicating analysis and insight.
  • Technical understanding (performance analyst).

We are looking for someone with experience of using Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager.

Desirable Criteria

  • Splunk coding skills.
  • Using Excel and Google Sheets to manipulate data.
  • Using Data Studio and Power BI to visualize and share outputs.

Team members that are moving offices as a result of the Locations Programme will be entitled to a Moves Adjustment Payment for three years where they incur additional costs. This is calculated based on the difference between the costs of travelling to and from the new and old office, over a weekly period. You will get more detail on this as part of targeted locations move communications.
