________________________________________ Operations Risk Manager Purpose of the Role
To develop and manage the Business Continuity & Emergency Planning and the Operational Risk Register within AirTanker. Job Responsibilities
Emergency Response responsibilities:
• To deliver and manage the emergency response for the organisation ensuring AirTanker has an appropriate response to any emergency.
• To ensure the specification of all dedicated emergency facilities to meet good industry practice and standards
• To ensure the Emergency Response Manual is legally and regulatory complaint and current at all times.
• To organise and manage the planning and exercising the call out and full exercise procedure on a periodic basis, in line with intervals and requirements set out in the SMS.
• To plan and implement the training for the Crisis Management Team, Site Team and Care Team through the Ground Ops Training Manager and deliver training where appropriate as the SME.
• To act as SME for the company to ensure best practice in Emergency Response Management thus ensuring AirTanker is legally and regulatory compliant by taking corrective action as appropriate.
• To deliver and manage the Emergency Response Plan with commercial customers to ensure any incident response is aligned and responsibilities between operators are clarified in advance.

Business Continuity responsibilities:
• To develop of an effective international business continuity framework and plans to ensure ATr is able to respond effectively and efficiently
• To deputise for the Senior Manager in the event of a Business interruption
• To organise and manage Business Impact analysis and Business Continuity Plan meetings
• To develop and deliver AirTanker's aspiration to achieve ISO22301 or alternative certification as deemed appropriate
• To continually improve the strategy, operating framework, plans and processes to ensure effectiveness and efficiency
• To deliver board and executive reports as required
• To oversee the activities undertaken by Business Continuity Co-ordinators (BCCs) thus ensuring compliance is adhered to as per the operating framework.
• To plan and implement the training for the BCCs and Site teams through the Ground Ops Training Manager and delivering training where appropriate as the SME.
• To act as SME for company to ensure best practice in Business Continuity thus ensuring ATr is legally compliant by taking corrective action as appropriate.
• To develop, deliver and maintain an effective & efficient audit programme including regular review controls and policy updates to maintain ATr compliance

Operational Risk Management activities; (reporting to the Head of Corporate Compliance and Enterprise Risk):
• To Inform the Enterprise Risk position on all aspects of Operational risk and opportunity via effective management and co-ordination of Operational risk activities
• To develop and manage the Operational Risk and Opportunity Register in accordance with company policies and procedures
• To carry out regular reviews with operational owners and sponsors to ensure an accurate view of risk and opportunity register is compliant.
• To support and influence the business in its identification, assessment and analysis (inclusive of mitigation strategies) applying sound commercial basis and estimation, of newly emerging risks
• To influence and support the business to in the optimisation of risk mitigation strategies
• To manage and maintain the Active Risk Management (ARM) risk management tool to ensure accuracy to enable to business to make informed decision based on risk rating.
• To perform analysis of the risk position (such as Monte Carlo analysis) as and when required
• To produce and deliver reports as required to support the business, shareholder and lender obligations
• To act as SME for ARM risk management tool and provide assistance to other operational users of ARM
• To act as Champion for Continuous improvement of the Operational Risk management process The Individual
• Demonstrable experience of working in an operational aviation environment
• Demonstrable experience of managing and/or delivering Emergency Response and/or Business Continuity and/or Operational Risk at an senior level
• High levels of drive and a proven ability to get things done
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with all stakeholders
• Displays flexibility, enthusiasm and commitment
• Ability to consider and assess the implications of wider business and Commercial drivers
• Proven negotiating and influencing skills and customer focus
• Proven ability to make sound decisions and work to tight deadlines in a complex and demanding environment
• Proven ability to maintain documentation to support Emergency Response, Business Continuity and Operational Risk requirements.
• Desirable job holder qualifications & experience at recruitment
• Experience of working in both civil and military aviation operations
• Experienced emergency planner - preferably within an airline, emergency service, local authority or similar organisation together with appropriate accreditation.
• Have a demonstrable career working in a complex Business Continuity environment and will ideally hold CBCI accreditation.
• Experience of risk management within an active operational organisation including a sound understanding of the principles of risk management - identification, assessment, control, prioritisation, analysis and reporting. Experience in the use of risk management processes, techniques and systems.
• Experience with using Active Risk Management (ARM) risk management software (or similar).
• Member of the Emergency Planning Society; Institute of Risk Management or Business Continuity Institute
• Experience of establishing and improving processes and procedures
