The Audit and Assurance Department are recruiting two Senior Auditors:

Central Senior Auditor: Lead and manage delivery of internal audit engagements of central services and support functions.

Based in London, with minimal travel.

Operations Senior Auditor: Lead and manage the delivery of audit engagements with a focus on audits of front-line activities, such as Homelessness Services, Anti-Human Trafficking Services and corps.

Homebased anywhere in the UK, 25-50% travel.

Both roles report directly to the Director of Audit and Assurance (DAA). You will:

  • Support the DAA with the preparation of both annual internal operational audit plans, and longer-term strategic planning covering UKI activities, prioritised on the basis of risk
  • Establish collaborative and effective working relations with senior and executive level managers across the organisation
  • Supervise, direct, monitor and review the work of junior staff in accordance with the objectives specified by the DAA, including provision of technical support
  • Lead on proactive issue identification through discussions with senior managers and collation and review of data analytics and management information.
  • Lead and coordinate special investigations related to allegations of theft or fraud for example as and when required
  • Provide in-house training on internal audit methodology and practice to improve the delivery of audit services within the organisation

The Central Senior auditor role is a permanent position based at our Headquarters, currently at 101 Newington Causeway, London, SE1 6BN. In late autumn 2023 we will be moving to our new, modern headquarters at Denmark Hill, London, SE5 8BQ. This exciting new building will provide a more effective workplace to help The Salvation Army better achieve its mission.
