The Energy Risk Analyst will be responsible for: 1. Providing Energy Market Optimisation services to key account customers and support the sales teams in the promotion and delivery of those products and services. 2. Evaluation and management of energy market risks on gas & power portfolios, developing and enacting appropriate hedging strategies. 3. Producing market insight and fundamental analysis to keep core internal stakeholders appraised of energy market drivers and movements, and support the formation and delivery of Energy s market risk strategies. 4. Support and drive development of new commercial opportunities to deliver growth consistent with strategy and financial targets. 5. Forecasting and maintaining accurate commodity and non-commodity cost forecasts, maintaining and improving pricing systems and processes along with risk and financial analysis 6. Identify, own, monitor, control and mitigate key market and operational risks. Lead and Senior additional responsibilities 7. Lead Energy Risk Analyst includes o Providing support to wider business prioritisation of work and providing support within the team to manage workloads across team. o They oversee the delivery and governance of the objectives set for their area. o They manage the operational risks in the defined area, ensuring that all required BAU is undertaken o That their team s technical skills and knowledge are developed. o They may have formal line management responsibilities for all or some of the team 8. Senior Energy Risk Analyst includes o That all actionable work is determined, prioritised and managed without prompting and any concerns over deliverables and timescales are communicated consistently and ahead of time Duties & Responsibilities: • Forecast current and future non-commodity costs for the purpose of accurate quoting, pricing and financial analysis • Evaluate commodity and non-commodity risks and metrics using historic data, scenarios or simulation based methodologies to determine required risk premiums for quoting, pricing and financial analysis • Deliver the pass-through and reconciliation activities for our eligible customer portfolios • Contribute to the introduction of new pricing, risk modelling and similar systems into the Corona estate through requirements building, details design, testing and implementation support • To perform adhoc analysis to support strategic and tactical objectives and business decision making • Support Sales and BD Team in preparing tenders and prices for prospective customers and renewals • Produce accurate customer forecasts for purposes of quoting, pricing and hedging • Provide key account customers with accurately and timely position reports • Detect, investigate and resolve all anomalous changes in positions, forecasts and breaches of policies or limits • Prepare and enact hedging strategies to optimise our client's portfolio and minimise risk to financial targets. • 6 monthly review and audit of Operational Risk Controls • Own and drive the modelling, models and process improvements across the business • Any other reasonable duties as defined by management Skills & Experience: • Experience of energy quoting and contract pricing would be a plus • Experience of portfolio position management and forecasting • Experience of evaluation of market risk • Understanding and knowledge of the industry charging mechanisms • Excellent model building and analytical skills • Excellent communicator able to summarise complex information into salient and insightful recommendations • Able to modify and adapt communication style and method for different internal and external audiences • Good interpersonal and relationship building skills • Numerical competency and analytical skills with an eye for detail and accuracy • Motivated to learn, develop, innovate, with a drive to improve reporting and insight within the business • Able to effectively prioritise tasks based on importance and urgency, with a willingness to collaborate with wider team to ensure tasks get done • Willing to contribute to team discussions and debates, sharing their opinions in a constructive and collaborative manner • Takes responsibility and ownership of completing work to required standard, supporting others to do the same • Operates in an open and honest manner taking responsibility for their actions and decisions • Open to receiving and giving feedback using it to improve performance and impact • Coding experience: Python, VBA, SQL
