Job Details

Salary: £24,256 plus £1,750 location allowance and exceptional benefits, including civil service pension and onsite nursery
Location: based at Hanslope Park, Milton Keynes with the flexibility of hybrid working depending on business need

At FCDO Services, we work with government-level customers worldwide, offering services including secure construction, secure IT and digital solutions, secure logistics and more. We build and repair embassies. We carefully move government servers to the Cloud. We make sure critical deliveries stay safe as they move across the world.

None of this would be possible without the work of our Financial Control team, and as an Assurance Officer, you’ll oversee and manage day-to-day operational aspects of car hire contracts and insurance cover, support the delivery of the internal audit programme and assist with the running of our Audit and Risk Assurance Committee Secretariat. We’ll also expect you to support the Risk Review and Assurance Board, document the insurance process across a range of insurable risks and produce guidance for our end-users.

Use all your problem solving, planning and organisational skills

You’ll be a natural problem solver, a superb planner and organiser, and as you’ll be working with a range of people at different levels of our organisation, excellent communication skills are essential. Capable of managing competing commitments to meet tight deadlines, you’ll be ready to work effectively through your colleagues as you gather information to ensure that work is completed on time and to schedule. In addition, you should have a good understanding of the Microsoft Office suite of software, knowledge of specialist insurance systems and databases, and first-class attention to detail.

Support a team that supports critical government work

Our organisation is dedicated to our customer promise, which is all about being reliable, responsible and building great relationships. To do this we need exceptionally co-ordinated teams, and Corporate Governance is no exception to that. From the day you join us, you’ll be assisting the Financial Controls and Assurance Manager with tasks that include keeping the controls framework updated, maintaining a register of policies and index of controls, commissioning annual effectiveness reviews of policies and controls, and assisting with other key organisational risk reduction and compliance activities. But no matter the task and whoever you work with, your enthusiasm and dedication will shine through – and you’ll help us provide a better service because of it.

Find your job bigger – and your benefits too

At FCDO Services, you’ll be applying knowledge from your learning and building on your skills, but you’ll also be doing it for an organisation with extraordinary impact. The sense of purpose is refreshing – and so are the benefits, whether it’s the pension that come with a Civil Service career, or our excellent support for work-life balance, including flexible working and an onsite OFSTED-registered nursery. You’ll find that you’re equipped to do your best work here, with an impact you never imagined. In short? It’s your job, bigger.

All our employees have to be security cleared before joining us, so you’ll need to undergo a vetting process if you’re successful in your application. You can find out more about vetting on our website.
