Job Details
The Audit & Risk Recruitment Company (ARRC)* has been exclusively mandated by our client, a multinational entertainment brand, in their search for a Global Head of Compliance, to grow the payments division of the business
Reporting into the CEO for payments, this is a newly created position in line with FCA regulations and as such requires an approved SMF16/17 individual, with prior experience of building a compliance function.
You will be a key contributor to the business and have constant exposure to C-suite stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- To provide regulatory liaison, building a strong working relationship with regulatory bodies, notably the FCA
- Reviewing legislation and conducting gap analyses to ensure payments procedures remain compliant
- Acting as DPO with responsibility for maintaining the Data Protection Policy.
- Be the principal Executive manager for risk and compliance for payments procedure.
- To provide expert leadership through planned integrations into the groupwide enterprise
- To provide advice on corporate governance, to enable the enhancement of the corporate governance framework.
- To champion on-going implementation, operation, adherence and promotion of relevant policies and procedures.
- To facilitate appropriate risk reporting through the governance structure, including working with the relevant non-Exec Director and team to enable an appropriate degree of consistency in risk reporting.
- To maintain an independent mindset and effectively challenge where necessary to achieve a robust second line of defence.
- Lead the Compliance Monitoring Function.
- To advocate risk and compliance, champion a positive risk culture and help provide an appropriate ‘tone from the top’ on risk and compliance matters.
Background Requirements
- 10+ years’ experience as a Compliance professional within a UK Financial Services environment (ideally with exposure to payments)
- Must have held an approved position previously at a regulated entity (SMF16/17)
- Previous Board/SMT level experience, or demonstrated the ability to directly report to the Board/SMT.
- Bachelor's degree (or an equivalent professional qualification) or above.
- Experience in and understanding of payments, e-money or wallet products/services, banking functions, MSBs and/or merchant processing.
- Ability to communicate, in a timely manner, with the Board/SMT on regulatory updates which may affect the business.
- Ability to promote the company culture, values and behaviours and to ensure standards of performance are accepted and understood.
- Demonstrate thought leadership and market presence relating to best practice and innovation.
- Good understanding of the payment technology industry.
