We are really excited to share that we have a fantastic opportunity for a Security Monitoring Analyst to join our talented and collaborative Global Security Operations team here at Computershare.

You will join a global team of InfoSec professionals that deliver in-depth technical security services for our most critical applications and infrastructure to ensure that they are highly resilient against existing and emerging cyber security threats.

This role will offer you variety, day to day you can expect to be involved in the monitoring of information technology security alters to protect our assets, as well as working with the Security Engineering team to tune and enhance the technologies. You will also be expected to deliver incident detection and incident response capabilities in conjunction with the Cyber Threat Intelligence team.

We want you to keep on top of emerging trends, understanding industry best practice, and coming up with innovative ways of working to ensure we enhance existing, and develop new monitoring and analytical processes.

Stakeholder engagement and peer relationships are key, as you will also work closely with other technology teams. Therefore, the ability to collaborate and build those trusted working relationships is imperative to the success of being able to deliver.

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Monitors security alert queues, investigate and triage events based on criticality and take direct, and indirect, threat mitigation action.
  • Conducts network monitoring and intrusion detection analysis using various tools.
  • Correlates network activity across internal networks to identify trends of unauthorised use
  • Reviews alerts and data from sensors and documents formal, technical incident and event investigation reports.
  • Research emerging threats and vulnerabilities to aid in the identification of network incidents.

 


What will you bring to the role?

We want you to have a passion form all things Cyber and Security. Whether that be a practical understanding or if you have been self-studying then we want to hear from you.

We are open to level of experience; you don’t necessarily have to have experience working within InfoSec roles before, but you do need have experience working within a technology role currently/previously.

You will be a self-starter with a hunger to learn and develop. Being organised with the ability to manage multiple complex tasks and work to deadlines and at times under pressure are some of the things we are looking for you to demonstrate.

As part of a global team, we want to you to collaborate, engage, and build great relationships with your team, being able to leverage skills and knowledge to ensure we deliver what is needed.

Other required competencies, skills and experience include.

 

 

  • Working within and developing standard operating procedures and incident run books
  • A knowledge or experience of performing 1st or 2nd line security monitoring analysis, as part of a SOC or NOC team, utilising industry recognised SIEM technologies
  • Ability to connect disparate data elements to identify patterns of behaviour in support of intelligence reporting
  • Be able to demonstrate an understanding of the security principles outlined in OWASP, NIST and ISO27000. If you possess one of these industry certifications, then this would be of advantage
