Computershare has an exciting opportunity for a permanent full-time Regional Head of IT Compliance (US & Canada) to join our Computershare Technology Services (CTS) team. This role can be either 100% remote US-Wide or hybrid (part-time remote, part-time in the office) from one of our offices in Canton, MA, Greenwood Village, CO, Edison, NJ or Jersey City, NJ.

A role you will love

As the Regional Head of IT Compliance, you’ll truly be a trusted business partner first and foremost. Through providing a credible, reliable, and personable service, you’ll allow the Computershare Group to be successful and in turn, deliver on our Technology values. You’ll also be responsible for the effective management control of the IT governance function across the US and Canada which includes threat and vulnerability management, internal and external audit, risk, and information security. You’ll play a pivotal role in providing support to global efforts for our access management practices and ensure they align with regional legal and regulatory requirements.

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Providing effective management control of the IT governance function encompassing the audit, risk, and compliance related responsibilities for North America
  • Developing a program of continuous improvement across the region and link to those in the EMEA & Oceania and the regional heads of those functions
  • Working closely with 2nd and 3rd lines of defense (data privacy, local compliance teams, global risk & internal & external audit)
  • Supporting global efforts with regards to our access management practices, ensuring that they align with regional legal and regulatory requirements
  • Partnering with the Business Line CIOs in Technology and wider leadership team to ensure that policies, processes, and procedures are in place, and are clearly defined to an appropriate level, and are reviewed on a regular basis
  • Maintaining complete oversight of both the recording and mitigation planning of IT risk
  • Leading and participating in risk initiatives such as risk and control self-assessments
  • Working in alignment and partnership with the IT Risk & Audit partners to maintain oversight and provide support to IT colleagues in the preparation and mobilization of internal & external audits and IT operational risk frameworks
  • Tracking all IT audit activity both in flight and as part of the continuous audit program
  • Supporting the wider IT function in the preparedness and execution of audits with internal and external audit teams and the formulation and implementation of post audit remediation plans

What will you bring to the role?

You’re someone who consistently inspires both confidence and trust with your stakeholders. You have a knack for initiating proactive discussions effectively and the ability to communicate with all levels of the business is something that comes naturally to you. In addition to your top-notch stakeholder management skills, you can also successfully build remote team cohesion and collaboration. You’ll also have:

  • 5+ years’ experience in managing a US and Canadian based or regional IT assurance and compliance team
  • 10+ years’ experience in working in a risk, compliance or audit function and roles
  • Demonstratable experience in working with financial services regulators in the United States (OCC, SEC) and in a highly regulated environment
  • Demonstratable experience growing and developing a team and driving a culture of continuous improvement
  • Experience working in a large technology organization across geographies and cultures
  • Experience in managing external auditors and client engagements
  • Organizationally savvy with the understanding of the climate of the enterprise and how to navigate obstacles and politics
  • Solid skills as a negotiator, to facilitate commitment to, and sign-off on, appropriate levels of risk from IT stakeholders
  • Expert ability in managing multiple internal stakeholders across IT and technology, 2nd line of defense risk community (Security, Risk, local compliance teams) and Audit
  • Designation as a Certified Risk Manager (CRM) and/or certification in Internal Audit (1SO 9001/CIA) preferred
  • Knowledge of Financial Services, Corporate Trust, Share Registry/Transfer Agency, Employee Share Plan or Communications industries and markets is highly regarded

Compensation. Approximately $150,000 - $170,000 USD per year depending on experience.
