The Council’s Internal Audit team is recognised in the Council as a trusted and valued business partner and plays a critical role in supporting the organisation to maintain and improve its governance, risk management and internal control framework, as well as leading and delivering its Counter Fraud Strategy.

We are seeking an Audit Manager to continue providing leadership to the small team of highly motivated internal auditors, supporting them in delivering a high quality, independent and objective audit service for the Council, adding value and ensuring the Council’s operations are managed effectively and efficiently, as well as providing trusted advice to the Chief Executive, Monitoring Officer, Members and the wider UDC organisation.

Using your internal audit experience and professional judgement, your pragmatic and collaborative style will maintain the team’s reputation and relationships across the Council, whilst you strive for best practice in line with Public Sector Internal Audit Standards and positively impact the organisation. 

You will ideally have experience of local government internal audit/counter fraud and either be a qualified auditor or accountant, or working towards qualification and looking to step up in to a management role. If you have external audit experience and can demonstrate transferrable skills, then we welcome your application.
