As a Barclays Investigations Operations Manager – VP you will be leading the delivery and performance of a range of high value, high volume business critical processes. In this role you will need to act as process owner and collaborate with various investigations, product and technology teams on new initiatives and change projects to automate and provide scalability to their operational environment. In this role you will also contribute to shaping the strategic agenda for the investigations function.

We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. We’re flexible on how this works and it may continue to change and evolve. Depending on your team, typically this means that colleagues spend a minimum of between 20% to 60% of their time in the office, which could be over a week, a month or a quarter. However, some colleagues may choose to spend more time in the office over a typical period than their role type requires. We also have a flexible working process where, subject to business needs, all colleagues globally are able to request work patterns to reflect their personal circumstances

What will you be doing?

  • Driving and overseeing the performance of financial crime investigations in relation to all aspects of service, cost and control
  • Managing of the allocated cost center, delivering to year-end target expectations for finances, headcount, and SLAs 
  • Maintaining a robust control environment and driving improvements whilst protecting the reputation of the bank and 
  • Managing and oversight of resource requirements and recruitment of colleagues as necessary
  • Assisting all colleagues in preparation for and management of Group Internal Audit reviews
  • Ensuring area operates a sound control environment and controls and checks are adhered to
  • Monitoring current capacity versus demand in order to effectively maintain service provision in line with SLAs
  • Coordinating periodic review of role profiles/ oversight of role upgrades

What we’re looking for:

  • Four-year college degree or international equivalent 
  • Five years of AML Compliance and Bank Secrecy Act or other relevant experience
  • Experience of operating a mature control environment and embedding strong risk culture
  • Experience of successfully leading and managing a diverse change /continuous improvement agenda

Skills that will help you in the role:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of multiple financial services products including correspondent 
  • Knowledge on Banking, investment banking and markets, and international wire transfers
  • Advanced degree or certification including JD or MBA 
  • Knowledge of regulatory environment and risk management with exposure to Financial Crime/Compliance matters
