Job summary

Do you want a lead role in a programme that is contributing to key Government policy including levelling up, economic recovery and helping communities to build back better?

If so, we’re looking for a Programme Analyst for the One Public Estate (OPE) programme.

OPE is jointly delivered by the Office of Government Property (OGP) in the Cabinet Office and the Local Government Association (LGA). It supports cross-public sector working to deliver ambitious property-led projects that create local economic growth, integrate public services and drive efficiency savings. We take a place-based approach, supporting projects that make a difference across the public sector, and we support the delivery of the Government Property Strategy. To date, we’ve provided early-stage funding for over 1,000 projects and we’ve got ambitions to deliver more.

Job description

We are looking for a Programme Analyst with strong data and communication skills to join our dedicated team. The Programme Management Office sits across both the OGP and the LGA, so it will be important for the post holder to provide a central link between organisations and wider partners. You will also make strong links with other OGP programmes and central government departments to best support opportunities for collaboration.

Reporting to the Programme Manager, you will be a trusted member of the programme’s central management team and able to influence the programme’s ways of working. You will be critical in supporting the day-to-day delivery of the programme and considering opportunities to drive the programme in new directions.

You will have the opportunity to build your experience of working in large programmes, both in scale and scope. Working in the Cabinet Office, at the heart of government, will give you the opportunity to work with senior officials, including Ministers and their Private Offices, and other government departments.

As OPE’s primary analyst you will also be responsible for ensuring that the programme’s data is utilised fully as well as for developing and refining tools, reports and the team’s knowledge of data. You will also have the opportunity to showcase your analytical ability to senior leaders within the Cabinet Office.

Another important part of the role will be to act as the main link between OGP’s Data and Analysis Team (DAT) and the OPE Programme. It will be crucial to develop a strong understanding of developments within DAT as well as close links to the team.

As Programme Analyst you will also be the champion of local authority data held within the OGP property asset database. This will involve providing training to OPE partnerships, working closely with the service desk and being the primary point of contact for partnerships in relation to their data.

Closing date: Monday 10th April 2023
