Nicholas Howard Limited is delighted to be recruiting for a new and exciting role as a Regulatory and Statutory Reporting Manager. Based in London, key responsibilities include statutory reporting and external audit, regulatory reporting, tax compliance and support on technical accounting matters and ad-hoc projects. Responsible for driving external reporting function forward and ensuring best practice is met. The successful candidate will also have responsibility for managing the finance departments risk management reporting and controls and group reporting. Duties, Responsibilities & Accountabilities: Regulatory Reporting: Responsible for the integrity and accuracy of regulatory reporting to the FCA (MLAR etc.) and any other regulatory bodies. Key contact in the development and delivery of the Regulatory reporting environment for the company and its subsidiaries. Ensure that the company and subsidiaries meets its regulatory obligations. Responsible for managing the finance departments risk management reporting and controls. Statutory Accounts, Tax & Technical Accounting: Responsible for the preparation of company and subsidiaries statutory accounts and ensuring statutory deadlines are met. Manage one source system for preparation of statutory accounts and ensure integrity of system is maintained. Responsible for managing external audit. Responsible for managing external advisors for tax compliance and ensuring tax compliance obligations are met including submission of annual tax returns. Support financial control team for month end reviews. Contact for technical accounting queries across the UK Lending business and produces relevant accounting papers / audit committee papers. Validation and evaluation of critical accounting estimates e.g., IFRS9 impairment provisions, effective interest rate, hedge accounting, fair value assessments of loan portfolios, accounting derecognition of loan portfolios. Other Responsibilities: Preparation of the statutory group reporting packs for the company in Australia. Person Specification: Knowledge: Consolidated statutory accounts (under IFRS). Excellent IFRS knowledge, particularly IFRS9. Understanding of regulatory reporting preparation and submissions. Understanding of audit and statutory reporting cycle. Significant experience of investigating technical accounting queries within a commercial environment. Exposure to complex accounting structures e.g., securitisations. Exposure to and practical knowledge of taxation matters. Competencies: Drive and attention to detail, with a hands on approach. Strong analytical skills, including complex formulae in Excel. Ability to form productive relationships at all levels. Forward thinking, Organisation & planning, seeking efficiencies and improvements in activities. Project management skills. Personal Characteristics: Strong communication skills, able to support conclusions through reference to technical material. You will take ownership of the responsibilities allocated to you. Self-starter, can do innovative approach, Gets results. Able to work under pressure and to deal with multiple tasks efficiently and to tight deadlines.
