Platforms within Market & Liquidity Risk, is a team that specialises in the operation of key Market & Counterparty Risk processes, the delivery of internal and regulatory change and the development of specialised reporting and analytics tools. The Platforms - Operational Control team owns the daily operation of key systems, ensuring the delivery of high quality risk reports and controls, the enhancement of core processes and the transition of strategic initiatives to a stable operating model.
About the role
We are looking for someone who has strong Market and/or Counterparty Risk knowledge and experience (in particular Reporting and Controls) to help provide insightful, high quality analysis, deliver high quality output and operational/system enhancements tailored to Business and Senior colleague needs. The Platforms - Operational Control team owns the daily operation of key systems, ensuring the delivery of high quality risk reports and controls, the enhancement of core processes and the transition of strategic initiatives to a stable operating model.
About the role
We are looking for someone who has strong Market and/or Counterparty Risk knowledge and experience (in particular Reporting and Controls) to help provide insightful, high quality analysis, deliver high quality output and operational/system enhancements tailored to Business and Senior colleague needs. Examples of activities include:
- Manage and deliver regulatory and internal Market and Counterparty Risk reports, operate a comprehensive control framework and lead a team of 10 offshore colleagues
- Work closely with other areas of Market & Liquidity Risk to deliver continuous improvements to the Operating Model, define the key control monitoring metrics, assess control framework and conduct in-depth review of key processes
- Support the delivery of key change initiatives (e.g. FRTB SA & CVA) and the transition to BAU
- Deliver outcomes by managing self, work within established systems while continuously looking for improvement opportunities; use own judgment as to when complex issues require escalation
- Develop network to source data and information to enable timely recommendations and advice. Engage with colleagues and teams, anticipating, clarifying and shaping requirements for the purpose of optimising business results
- Understand how technology, digital transformation and cloud migration impact daily operations and controls
Key Skills Required
Essential
- Proven working experience in the Market and/or Counterparty Risk function, with an ability to perform complex analysis of day to day risk measure moves (sensitivities, VaR, SVaR, ST, PFE, EE, EEPE etc) and investigations of control breaks
- Highly numerate and hold at least a degree level qualification with quantitative content or equivalent skills derived from highly significant experience
- Excellent communications skills, in order to convey feedback to Risk Managers, modelling teams and Engineering
- Knowledge of traded products (Repo, Rates, FX, Credit, MM and structured transactions etc)
- Knowledge of VBA and advanced use of Microsoft Office suite
- Ability to build strong relationships
Desirables
- A knowledge of Python and/or Tableau/Power BI and their capabilities will also be of significant benefit
- Growth mindset, able to demonstrate effectiveness in applying new skills and capabilities
- Understanding of relevant regulations (e.g. CRD IV, FRTB)
