Job description

Location: The location of this role is Newport, Bristol or Leeds and the team currently all work hybrid with a few days in the office a week and the rest at home.

Who are we?
  • The Data & Analytics team is a multi-disciplined team of about 70 colleagues sitting within the Insurance, Pensions & Investments COO team.
  • Our roles range from Data Governance and Management to Data Science as well as developing Business Insight using a variety of data platforms to provide the services our business needs.


What would you be getting involved with?
  • Building relationships and engaging with business and platforms to improve the understanding the requirements for data management and data governance.
  • Facilitate and contribute to assessing the impacts and implications of key business initiatives in terms of mitigating data risk through data management and development of recommendations.
  • Work closely with colleagues of all levels across the business to help shape and implement strategic data management initiatives.
  • Challenge and provide input into innovative approaches being explored to strengthen the risk and control environment including roles and responsibilities.
  • Work across the team, managing multiple stakeholders, to drive key and consistent actions across the entire IP&I business unit.


We’re looking for someone with:
  • Excellent influencing skills combined with the ability to build trust and strong relationships with key stakeholders at all levels
  • A self- starter with a love of problem solving and desire to collaborate on innovative ideas bringing a fresh perspective and planning for the future
  • Great attention to detail
  • Strong analytical ability to review information from a range of sources, and formulate clear, workable recommendations
  • Well defined planning & organising skills as things could change and you'll need to adapt to a flexible agenda
  • Confident communicator with the ability to produce and present materials that are appropriate for a wide range of colleagues.


We would love to hear from you if you have experience in some of the following:
  • Data management and or data governance
  • Experience of setting up and facilitating meetings and workshops
  • Supporting data communities within business areas
  • Assessing the potential impact of change on data, the people and processes that rely on it
  • Willingness to learn in new areas and get involved in different activity
  • Previous experience working with applications or business areas in Insurance, Pensions and Investments and knowledge of the Division will provide a great foundation for the role.
