About the team

Operating within the Chief Customer Office (CCO), our Value Analytics & Modelling team use customer level data to transform the experiences of our customers. We are in an exciting period of change where we seek to truly transform our customer interactions eco-system into world class capability, delivering a truly personalised customer experience.

Senior Analyst roles exist within the team, and your application will be considered across all similar roles. The roles sit within a community of data scientists, who work to help Lloyds Banking Group consistently deliver its commercial and customer driven outcomes. You’ll get opportunities to deliver genuine value and directly support our customers.

About the role
  • Be responsible for developing technical models to enhance our customer contact to drive meaningful customer interactions
  • Lead improvement by embedding data science techniques into our customer analytics and contact strategy
  • Perform accurate data mining and extraction from relevant structured and unstructured sources to support the development of new insight solutions
  • Manipulate, interpret and challenge data using a variety of data modelling tools and apply statistical techniques to understand key drivers, risks and opportunities
  • Translate analysis into insight to convey the story in a manner collaborators understand and can use

About you:

You'll have strong analytical curiosity and storytelling capabilities, with the ability to turn sophisticated requests into insight, and translate that insight into commercial and actionable recommendations. We welcome a variety of analytical backgrounds which will complement the capability we already have within the team.

Specifically, you’ll need to have:
  • Advanced SQL skills (ideally Teradata) and experience of working with large datasets in a similar analytical or data modelling role.
  • A commercial and strategic approach with ability to provide data driven solutions to business objectives and problems.
  • The communication and relationship skills to work effectively with a variety of technical and non-technical partners.
  • A strong grounding in the principles of data science and their application to real-world business problems.
  • Experience in using statistical methodologies to drive actionable insights.

Ideally, it would also be advantageous if you have:
  • Technical experience using data science tools such as Python.
  • Familiarity with best practice in Machine Learning model development and monitoring
  • Knowledge of customer interactions and/or experience working with retail banking data.

Whilst the majority of the team are based in Bristol and this is our preference, we would welcome applications for other locations where the wider team is also located. Our hybrid working model continues to evolve across CCO, and our colleagues work 1 to 2 days per week in the office.
