About the role 

As a Capital Manager within Balance Sheet Risk & Strategy, you will find yourself in a role where your skills and knowledge are really valued. You can see the impact of your work and further develop your understanding of balance sheet risks and the key role they play in the operation of a successful and growing Building Society. 

You’ll be working with teams across the Finance division and the wider Society to identify and develop opportunities to ensure we continue to bring value to the balance sheet and our members. You will be seeking to provide Real Help with Real Life as you build the understanding of the capital and balance sheet implications of new customer propositions and potential changes to the shape of our balance sheet over time.

This is an exciting new role, that is broad in scope. Working with the other areas of the business, representing the team and acting as conduit for the wider balance sheet considerations, helping to shape the future of the Society’s balance sheet and new product propositions. You will identify risks to our balance sheet and help understand how to alleviate these risks to ensure long term balance sheet and capital sustainability.

Away from this, you will work with the wider team to help deliver individual pieces of analysis and projects to enhance our capabilities as we continue to grow.

The team currently adopt a flexible hybrid working approach of home and office working (Leeds) to be discussed with your manager. However, you may work from the office more often if you like.

About you 

This a great opportunity for someone looking to make the next step, or just wants a change in role. 

You will have a good understanding of financial services and an appreciation of prudential concepts with the ability to challenge how they impact the Society. You will have experience in managing multiple projects and managing stakeholder expectations.

Experience of working with product pricing would be great, but by no means a prerequisite.

You’ll be collaborative and have experience of engaging and working with other teams to advise, educate and promote your work.
