Sustainability Innovation Project Manager - London

*Urgent 12 Month Contract*

This is an exciting new opportunity to join a Global Breakthrough Innovation (BI) team as a Programme and Pipeline Manager. This 12 month contract role is essential in setting up the newly expanded team for success, through facilitating the delivery of future-facing innovation solutions that move beyond existing capability and span across Sustainability, Luxury, Wellness and Digital propositions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Orchestrate momentum around the 'hopper', the pipeline of 100+ pipeline across Explore & Discover; Build & Validate; Integrate & Scale stages, working with the innovation leads on each project to move through the development process and achieve the targeted ratios on pause, test, proof of concept & launch
  • Embed new Breakthrough Innovation process - to enable balance of rigor and agility throughout development process.
  • Identify a (tech) platform and mechanisms for managing a pipeline of projects through stages, that is compatible with Core Innovation Navigate process .
  • Run regular governance forms to manage decision making and pipeline progress.
  • With finance support, manage the overall spend across the pipeline (multi-million), make recommendations for efficiencies, and calculate 'return on effort' across pipeline.
  • Champion continuous learnings cycle to ensure lessons-learned are banked and muscle memory built. Support the culture of 'fail fast/forward'.

Experience required:

  • First-hand experience in managing innovation pipelines with a bias to breakthrough and new to world innovation (versus core/renovation).
  • Demonstrable experience at managing a pipeline to deliver results: overcoming barriers and risks to create viable, feasible innovation solutions.
  • Significant experience in embedding a new process attention to detail and ability to cut through complexity to help others move forward.
  • Deep understanding on how to create the right conditions for disruptive innovation to thrive within an existing established global organization.
  • Ability to influence senior innovation professionals to work together to deliver, adept at holding others to account to keep things moving.
  • Ability to present lots of information in a simple way, aggregating into to dashboards to support decision making and stakeholder visibility.
  • Fully literate in innovation and general programme management techniques: can flex style to suit the job to be done and organization culture.
  • Balance of creative and commercial orientation: ability to spot potential in ideas and support innovation leads to commercialise propositions through development process.
  • Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's Degree
