SALARY: £78,634 - £94,000
LOCATION: Bristol
HOURS: Full time
WORKING PATTERN: Hybrid, 40% (or two days) in an office site

About this opportunity
We’re the Data Content Services Lab (DCS) in the Data and Machine Learning Platform Team (DML).

The goal of the Data Content Services Lab is to organise the bank’s data so that we can help the organisation become truly data driven. We do this by enabling a wide variety of business users to easily find the data they need, understand what the data means, know they can trust the data and enable them to re-use the data in creative ways to drive business insight and value.

What will I focus on in this role?
As the Data Analyst Chapter Lead, you'll lead, mentor, train, guide, and support a growing team of Business Data Analysts. You’ll be responsible for developing the Chapter, growing the expertise of the wider community of Data Analysts, connecting with other DA Chapters and communicating the purpose of the Chapter to the DCS Lab and D&ML.

Our Business Data Analysts are currently involved in helping craft the end-to-end solutions that deliver the data, and how we can do that in a way that is efficient, enables re-use of the data and delivers data that is of a high quality.

You’ll support the data management strategy for the platform, contributing towards the roadmap and improving the end-to-end processes around data quality, metadata management, data lineage & data management standard process.

About us
If you think all banks are the same, you’d be wrong. We’re an innovative, fast-changing business that’s shaping finance as a force for good. A bank that’s empowering its people to innovate, explore possibilities and grow with purpose.

What you’ll need
This role could suit an experienced Technical Business Analyst with a strong focus on data, or a Data Analyst with a passion for using data to drive business value through the design of end-to-end data solutions.

You’ll need team leading or senior management experience running small teams 5+

You’ll have a good understanding and background knowledge of data design, data management, data quality, metadata management, data lineage & the challenges associated with each in a large complex environment.

You’ll be passionate about data and delivering high quality data-led solutions

And any experience of these would be really useful
We’re fairly technology agnostic as long as you have the relevant background in the points above, however if you have any knowledge of SQL, or any big data technologies that would be a plus for us, but not the crux of the role! I.e. Hadoop, Hive, HBase, GCP etc

About working for us
Our focus is to ensure we're inclusive every day, building an organisation that reflects modern society and celebrates diversity in all its forms.

We want our people to feel that they belong and can be their best, regardless of background, identity or culture.

We were one of the first major organisations to set goals on diversity in senior roles, create a menopause health package, and a dedicated Working with Cancer initiative.

And it’s why we especially welcome applications from under-represented groups.

We’re disability confident. So if you’d like reasonable adjustments to be made to our recruitment processes, just let us know.

We also offer a wide-ranging benefits package, which includes:

  • A generous pension contribution of up to 15%
  • An annual bonus award, subject to Group performance
  • Share schemes including free shares
  • Benefits you can adapt to your lifestyle, such as discounted shopping
  • 30 days’ holiday, with bank holidays on top
  • A range of wellbeing initiatives and generous parental leave policies

Want to do amazing work, that’s interesting and makes a difference to millions of people? Join our journey.
