Our roles support our service users and colleagues within HMCTS, where people and businesses access potentially life-changing justice. We’re looking for individuals who are committed to public service and making a difference in people’s lives to deliver justice. If you are interested in developing a career with a real purpose, please apply.
About the role:
An exciting and fresh opportunity awaits you as you become a part of our dynamic and welcoming team within the HMCTS Property Directorate. The Strategy Team, housed within the broader Strategy, Sustainability, and Policy Team, plays a pivotal role in appraising property options. It involves drawing valuable insights and contemplating diverse scenarios to guide and support decision-making concerning our estates. Your role in this capacity will draw upon your expertise to conduct geospatial analysis, contributing to more informed decisions and bolstering investment cases for the Property Directorate.
You will present your work using mapping and visualisations to colleagues across the Property Directorate, including the Senior Management Team. Your work will be varied and innovative, combining and challenging current strategic goals by considering building and performance data. You will work closely with your Strategy colleagues to develop geospatial strategy products.
About you:
In this multifaceted role within the Property Directorate, your responsibilities encompass a wide spectrum of activities. You'll conduct data-driven performance analysis and complex geospatial analysis, enhancing decision-making by providing valuable insights. A pivotal aspect is the development of a strategy mapping tool, enabling estate-wide scenario exploration. Collaboration with external providers and the development of data sources underpin the evidence-based approach to estate decisions. You'll also act as an advisory resource, guiding non-technical colleagues on methodologies and findings, and using your analysis to recommend investment strategies for facilities. Supporting key teams, managing reporting, and maintaining a national map for the property directorate are integral to your role. Lastly, upholding organizational values, diversity, regulatory compliance, health and safety, risk management, and information security is imperative.
Your role extends to supporting the Strategy, Sustainability, and Policy Team, including managing urgent requests from senior management team and contributing to periodic reporting. As a subject matter expert, you'll aid the Property Project Management Office in meeting reporting commitments. You'll also maintain a comprehensive national map to facilitate decision-making and work closely with various stakeholders from Operations, Data & Analytics, Finance, and more. By embracing the organization’s values and compliance standards, you'll contribute to the overall success and integrity of the Property Directorate.
What we are looking for:
The ideal candidate for this position should possess a demonstrable track record in geospatial analysis, including the ability to undertake complex analyses and visualization of geospatial data. Proficiency in working with relational databases, such as SQL, Python, R etc. is a key requirement, with a preference for programming experience in R. Experience in designing and utilizing complex optimization algorithms is essential. Strong communication skills, both written and oral, are essential, along with the capacity to decipher intricate datasets, identify performance issues, and communicate findings concisely.
Collaboration and partnership skills are highly valued, as the role involves working closely with colleagues across HMCTS to achieve constructive outcomes and share best practices. Additionally, the ability to present data effectively to diverse audiences is crucial. Finally, the candidate should exhibit a strong commitment to the organization's values, promoting equal opportunities, diversity, adherence to service regulations, health and safety responsibilities, risk management, information security, and overall organizational integrity.
Desirable skills for this role include experience in working on estates strategy and analysis. Experience managing 3rd party suppliers is also beneficial as the role will require working with external providers of travel-time data.
