Cloud IT Project Consultant who has a computer science background with proficiency in data analysis, including moving averages, CPU aggregation and normalising with a good understanding of IT Infrastructures and some knowledge of Cloud and DevOps, especially AWS or Azure is required for a well-established consulting firm based in the City of London.

Junior Level and Senior Level Candidates Required

Due to continued growth the company is looking for a couple of consultants to join the team and will consider both junior level and senior level candidates. Ideally one of each.

SALARY: GBP35,000 - GBP60,000 per annum (depending on experience) + Benefits

LOCATION: Hybrid. You can work from home, although you must be able to travel to the office in the City of London or client sites (mostly London) at least once a week.

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Cloud IT Project Consultantwho has a computer science background with proficiency in data analysis, including moving averages, CPU aggregation and normalising with a good understanding of IT Infrastructures and some knowledge of Cloud and DevOps, especially AWS or Azure.

Working as the Cloud IT Project Consultant you will be quickly utilised on client engagements, working as part of a project team with experienced and talented colleagues.

As the Cloud IT Project Consultant you will most often be in a client facing role and the range of projects you work on will vary according to current demand and your professional development path. Typical projects include:

  • Automating through use of DevOps capability
  • Conducting systems risk management assessments
  • Performance audits
  • Designing performance test plans to address performance risk
  • Demand forecasting / planning
  • Looking for ways to reduce client money spent on IT performance
  • Cost Ops and Fin Ops
  • Development of capacity and performance models
  • Proactive system monitoring to identify performance risks
  • Looking for ways to reduce client money spent on IT performance

DUTIES

Based on your level of experience your duties as the Cloud IT Project Consultant include:

  • Working as part of a team and independently to carry out technical work for project delivery, perhaps leading the team
  • Participating in daily stand-up meetings with your project team, perhaps leading these meetings
  • Assisting, mentoring and possibly line managing junior staff
  • Delivering technical tasks for client projects, continually growing your technical expertise, perhaps managing and leading projects to time and budget, enabling project profitability
  • Sharing your technical knowledge with colleagues and juniors, facilitating the development of yourself and others
  • Building an internal and external network, proactively reaching out to engage colleagues and client contacts, seeking to understand our client businesses and issues
  • Contribute to, deliver or lead the creation of and delivery of client presentation
  • Identifying business opportunities for the company within client account and more broadly where possible
  • Serves as a project point of contact for client contacts
  • Serves as an internal go-to person in an area of technical expertise, drawing on support as appropriate
  • Supporting the company marketing strategy by sharing/posting on LinkedIn and creating content for blogs
  • Identifying opportunities to innovate and improve efficiency or quality of the internal processes
  • Using your technical capability to create IP to augment the existing processes

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL

  • Have a computer science background
  • Developing towards proficiency in, or proficient in, data analysis, including moving averages, CPU aggregation and normalising
  • Developing toward proficiency in, or proficient in, monitoring, including basic and complex metric understanding, and familiarity with monitoring agents
  • Developing towards proficiency in, or proficient in, performance analysis skills, including database performance analysis, defined thresholds and web performance analysis
  • At least intermediate Excel skills for data analysis, with willingness to learn advanced Excel skills
  • At least intermediate PowerPoint and MS Word skills
  • Have interest in and knowledge of the cloud and DevOps, especially AWS or Azure environments
  • Understanding of IT infrastructure
  • Experience or willing to develop capacity planning and modelling skills
  • Experience or willing to develop cost optimisation skills
  • Experience or willing to develop development skills, including automation and coding
  • Experience or willing to develop performance engineering skills, including test design and analysis
