About the role
A fixed term opportunity has arisen to join the Asset & Liability Management team in the Balance Sheet Management Control directorate as a specialist ALM manager under the Hedge Management project within the Governance, Risk and Control programme. The successful candidate would be responsible for developing a suite of data to support optimum hedge management and ensures decision are made in an informed and well controlled manner.
In this role you will be directly responsible for delivering key aspects of the hedge management project, working with colleagues across the ALM team, wider Finance function and trading. You will be expected to evaluate and document requirements and deliver a complete suite of reporting to support hedging decisions through the identify-manage-mitigate-monitor risk management cycle. This role has no line management responsibility but requires significant engagement with others.
As a reporting specialist with a working knowledge of hedge management, you'll be joining an established team to support the delivery of improvements to the risk management framework. This role would ideally suit someone with a strong risk reporting background who is looking to build on that knowledge into the specialist area of hedge management.
In this role you'll build upon your existing skillset to support this specialist area within the Balance Sheet Control directorate. A strong understanding of the YBSs balance sheet, corporate structure and data and reporting landscape are key to success in the role. In addition, you will champion a positive risk management culture.
About You
You'll need in-depth knowledge of financial services management information tools and an understanding of managing interest rate risk. This'll be coupled with:
- Familiarity with the banking book and financial market products, with a broad knowledge of finance and balance sheet management within an organisation.
- An understanding of net interest margin for financial products and the factors impacting it.
- Past experience of developing large data suites for a specialist audience.
- Examples of delivering change within tight deadlines and having stakeholder engagement through the journey
- Excellent attention to detail and a pro-active attitude and continuous improvement mindset
- Effective communication, engagement and influencing skills demonstrating the ability to understand, define and articulate business requirements
- You'll be someone who is keen to help others learn and develop and, while not a manager, you'll be provide thought leadership and encourage best practice in others.
