Our teams are dedicated to advancing Artificial Intelligence, DevOps, Platforms, and Colleague Experience, making these technologies more accessible for organizations of all sizes. We identify opportunities and manage the associated risks, ensuring these advancements benefit the UK Government effectively.

As a key player in this role, you'll have the opportunity to support central and local government, the NHS, the Police, and over 400 other agencies and bodies. Your responsibilities will include setting strategies, principles, and standards, as well as identifying best practices to aid the public sector. By fostering the adoption and integration of these practices, you'll empower over 32,000 digital and data professionals across these organizations to drive transformative change.

Your role:

- Support the 10-year strategy for AI adoption across the Public Sector.- Document best practices in NLP/NLU, machine learning, and experimental design.- Identify effective uses of advanced analytics, data science, and automation to solve business challenges.- Guide technical teams on data-driven projects with delivery and product managers, ensuring projects deliver technical solutions and business value.- Promote AI/ML adoption and best practices across government, and help upskill colleagues in AI adoption.

Required experience includes:

- Data science and machine learning- AI algorithms and their use cases- Data processing pipeline- Retrieval augmented generation and fine-tuning- Data pipelines and versioning requirements- Evaluation and test metrics- Large Language Models (LLMs), Generative AI, and Foundation Models- Short and medium-term AI developments- LLM vulnerabilities, safeguards, and security- Profiling and performance optimization of AI/ML systems
