Job Description

The British Virgin Islands has more registered companies per square mile than any other jurisdiction on earth. Behind many of those companies sit international fund structures, holding vehicles and corporate groups spanning multiple jurisdictions. When they collapse, the insolvency work lands in a small number of specialist offices on the island. One of them is looking for an Advisory Senior.

What makes this different at your level: the team is small, the partners are accessible, and the matters you work on here would take considerably longer to reach in a large onshore practice. Cross-border coordination across the Cayman Islands, Bermuda, Hong Kong and the US is standard. Working directly with lawyers, fund managers and creditors comes with the role from the start, not after three years of proving yourself.

You support the management and delivery of insolvency and restructuring engagements across official and voluntary liquidations, contentious restructurings and forensic assignments. Day-to-day, you conduct financial analysis, prepare statutory documentation, assist with asset tracing and creditor claims management, and work across multiple jurisdictions with lawyers and stakeholders. Case ownership builds as your experience does.

You are a couple of years into your insolvency and restructuring career and you are ready for more than you are currently getting. You absorb technical detail quickly and stay composed when a matter becomes complicated. You communicate clearly, you ask the right questions, and you follow things through without needing to be chased. The offshore market interests you for the right reasons: the work, the complexity, the career trajectory, and yes, the lifestyle too.

What you need:
  • 4+ years of Insolvency and Restructuring experience from a professional services/advisory firm
  • Experience gained in UK, Ireland, Singapore, Australia, South Africa ideally
  • Professionally qualified CFA, ACA, ACCA, CA or USCPA
  • Exposure to English-law or Commonwealth insolvency regimes
  • CIP/JIEB qualification is a bonus at this level, not a requirement
  • Cross-border or offshore experience is a strong advantage

Tortola is the commercial heart of the BVI: real infrastructure, a strong professional community, and access to some of the best sailing water in the Caribbean. The commute is short. The cost of living is manageable. The people who move here for a role and end up staying considerably longer than planned are not an anomaly. Full relocation and work permit support included.
