Chief Internal Auditor

We're supporting a respected public sector organisation in the search for an experienced Chief Internal Auditor to lead a high-profile internal audit function. This is an excellent opportunity to shape audit strategy, influence senior stakeholders and provide independent assurance across a complex and evolving environment.

Leading a small team, you'll develop and deliver a risk-based audit plan, present findings to senior leadership and governance committees, and provide trusted advice on governance, risk management and internal controls. You'll also build strong relationships across the organisation while driving continuous improvement and professional standards.

We're looking for a qualified CCAB or CMIIA (or equivalent) professional with significant internal audit leadership experience, strong knowledge of governance and risk frameworks, and the confidence to engage and influence at executive level. Previous experience within a large, complex or regulated organisation would be highly advantageous.

This role can be worked predominantly remotely, with only one day a week expected in the office in the West Midlands.
