Head of Internal Audit (SMF5)

A global specialty insurer is seeking an exceptional Head of Internal Audit (SMF5) to oversee the audit function and provide independent, objective assurance across its UK operations and managed syndicate. This is a rare opportunity to lead a high-profile function, shape the audit strategy, and influence senior stakeholders at Board level.

In this role, you will:

• Own and maintain the audit universe and annual audit plan
• Oversee delivery of audits using both in-house and outsourced resources
• Report findings to Audit Committees and Boards, ensuring robust governance
• Provide insight on emerging risks, regulatory expectations, and control effectiveness
• Lead ad-hoc reviews and ensure timely follow-up of audit recommendations
• Uphold regulatory standards and contribute to strong corporate governance

You'll bring deep London Market audit experience, strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the credibility to challenge senior leaders.
