Job Description

Operational Audit/ Retail Auditor/ Field Auditor

Central South /M3/M4 corridors or nearby location

£43000 + car and wide range of benefits

Your new company

A multi-site retail organisation is seeking a Retail Auditor for an Operational Audit opportunity which is based remotely – but candidates need to live in the central south area – ideally in the M3/M4 corridors – due to the regular weekly travel to sites spread across the South of the UK. The role will require fairly regular overnight stays away from home.

Your new role

You’ll be responsible for completing controls-based audits across distribution centres and stores throughout the UK.
Your role will focus on reviewing operational activities, assessing internal controls, and identifying areas for improvement.
You’ll report your findings and recommendations, helping the business to maintain compliance and drive continuous improvement.

  • Planning and carrying out internal operational audits across the Group
  • Reviewing processes and controls to assess their effectiveness and compliance
  • Preparing clear audit reports with actionable recommendations
  • Working closely with operational teams to promote awareness and understanding of policies and procedures
  • Following up on audit findings to ensure agreed actions are implemented
  • Supporting investigations and conducting ad hoc audits as needed

What you'll need to succeed

  • You will ideally be a qualified Internal Auditor, or have extensive experience in an operational internal audit role, ideally in the retail sector.
  • Strong experience in risk-based auditing and controls testing
  • Proven ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Willingness to travel across the UK (primarily the South region)
  • Experience in preparing audit reports with a focus on root cause analysis

What you'll get in return

  • Remote role – BUT weekly travel required – primarily in the South with regular overnight stays away from home. (Likely to be 2 or 3 days each week based in a business location, so 1 or 2 nights spent away pw.)
  • Ideally, you will be located in the Thames Valley M3/M4 corridor or nearby!
  • Salary £43000 plus car and excellent range of benefits
