Manager / Senior Manager - U.S. Tax | Bermuda

A leading professional services firm in Bermuda is seeking an experienced Manager or Senior Manager to join its U.S. Tax practice. This individual will lead a team responsible for delivering strategic tax planning, compliance, and advisory services, helping clients navigate complex regulations and optimise their tax positions within the investment funds sector.

You will act as a strategic advisor, using their technical expertise, leadership ability, and industry insight to deliver high-quality results. As autonomy increases in the role, they will exercise sound judgment, knowing when to take initiative and when to escalate key matters. By building, developing, and sustaining high-performing, diverse, and inclusive teams, they will contribute directly to the firm's continued success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify underlying tax issues and opportunities for clients
  • Validate outcomes through open dialogue, sharing perspectives, and acting on feedback
  • Guide teams through complex, ambiguous, and challenging situations with composure
  • Continue to develop deep technical expertise and stay attuned to industry developments
  • Lead open and constructive coaching conversations at all levels
  • Make informed decisions to address issues affecting team performance
  • Model and reinforce professional and technical standards, the firm's code of conduct, and independence requirements
  • Build enduring client relationships and identify potential service opportunities
  • Oversee project workflow, staffing, budgets, billing, and deliverables
Required Skills & Experience
  • Extensive U.S. tax compliance and consulting experience within the funds sector
  • Strong ability to develop and maintain client relationships, including presenting complex material
  • Proven experience leading teams, fostering trust, leveraging diverse viewpoints, and encouraging innovation
  • Advanced knowledge of tax compliance technologies and Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and time management skills
  • Bachelor's degree with a concentration in accounting/taxation or a law degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of U.S. taxation experience within an international accounting firm or in a role focused on U.S. tax issues related to partnerships and corporations
  • CPA or IRS Enrolled Agent qualification preferred (relevant experience without these credentials will also be considered)
