Role Purpose

To assist and support the DRAS National Stream SBU in managing the financial performance of the stream on strategic issues and on a day-to-day basis as well as providing relevant support, advice and guidance to the overall team within the business unit on financial matters.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Regular liaison with the central Finance function, overseeing the month end and year end processes
  • Overseeing regular management reporting
  • Overseeing the annual budget for the overall stream, coordinating with local SBUs liaising with relevant personnel and the central Finance team as appropriate and overseeing the input of the data into the Firm’s budget model
  • Coordination with the DRAS Finance Partner and Operations Manager on a continuous basis, and regular communication with the Joint Heads of DRAS
  • Working Capital management for the group – ensuring that bills, provisions, recoveries and cash collections are managed effectively and efficiently; challenging performance in these areas where required and agreeing appropriate action to take when issues arise
  • Agreeing and taking ownership of KPIs for DRAS
  • Driving standardisation of MI and preparation of monthly packs
  • Championing the ongoing implementation of Workday to ensure the system is being used consistently and efficiently across the stream.
  • Leading the 4R process to provide critical evaluation and drive consistency
  • Monthly financial analysis and reporting to the DRAS heads and the Group Financial Controller to enable informed planning and decision making. Including budget, rolling forecast, key performance indicators and analysis of variances
  • Trend analysis with timely identification of causes of risks/ problems with prompt suggestion for relevant actions, particularly including revenue, recoverability, staff utilisation, work in progress, debt
  • Assist in the production and preparation of business plans and support DRAS in identifying and developing strategy for the group and individual sub-streams; providing support in driving through these strategic decisions
  • Other ad-hoc matters as required in support of the DRAS strategy

  • Qualified accountant or relevant financial experience
